Vision
Moorabool Environment Group works toward a flourishing, vibrant, regenerated natural environment in Moorabool Shire and beyond, where biodiversity is valued and protected, effective action on climate change is taken, and landscapes, waterways, air and ecosystems are environmentally healthy. We aspire toward community pride in our natural environment.
Advocacy
- Advocating for our unique local environment, as well as broader environmental issues
- Promoting sustainable development and protection of local waterways, including Werribee River, Lerderderg River and Parwan Creek
- Lobbying to Government and other relevant parties regarding maintaining a healthy environment in Moorabool and beyond
Community
- Public Information sessions (e.g. on solar & energy efficient homes, local wildlife & plants)
- Providing information for the general community
Monitoring, protection and restoration
- Wildlife monitoring
- Tree planting and revegetation with various Friends and Landcare groups and Grow West
- Waterway monitoring and litter audits with Bacchus Marsh Platypus Alliance
- Monitoring and reporting environmental pollution in key parts of Moorabool Shire
- Liaison with other environmental organisations
